Consumer AlertsThe Latest from NuUnion.Credit and Debit Card Data CompromiseNuUnion has been notified by MasterCard and Visa of two large-scale compromises of credit and debit card account information at third party locations. These have resulted in possible compromises involving some NuUnion debit and credit cards. Data has been exposed and may have been obtained by unauthorized individuals. Addresses, telephone numbers, unencrypted personal identification numbers (PINs) and social security numbers were NOT involved in the compromise. The FBI is conducting a criminal investigation with the specifics around the compromises still being analyzed. We're closely monitoring the situation and will keep you updated as further news is available. This compromise is not specific to NuUnion, and many other institutions have also been affected by these security breaches. Most importantly, members can rest assured that they're fully protected by MasterCard and Visa's $0 liability policy, which means they pay nothing in the event of unauthorized purchases. It's important to always monitor all your financial statements (bank, credit union, credit card, investments, etc.) so you can detect any unauthorized charges or withdrawals.
